Discord Channel Name Rules

Discord channel names are limited to 100 characters and must use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (no spaces — they're auto-converted to hyphens).

Best Practices

  • Keep names short (under 30 chars) so they don't get cut off in the sidebar.
  • Use hyphens instead of spaces: general-chat
  • Use emojis sparingly to categorize channels (e.g., 📢-announcements).
