Note: Since Discord's username update, "global" usernames may require at least one alphanumeric character, but *nicknames* can still be 100% blank.

How to get a Blank Name on Discord

Discord has updated its username system, making it more difficult to have a completely blank *global* username. However, you can still have a blank *display name* or a blank *server nickname*.

Display Name vs. Nickname

  • Display Name: Your global name seen by everyone. Go to User Settings > My Account > Edit User Info.
  • Server Nickname: Specific to a server. Right-click your name in the member list > Change Nickname.
