How long can an Instagram Highlight name be?

The technical limit for an Instagram Story Highlight name is 15 characters. However, just because you can use 15 doesn't mean you should.

The "Visibility" Limit

On most devices, Instagram will truncate (add "...") to highlight names after about 10-11 characters. To ensure your entire name is visible without being cut off, it is best to keep it under 10 characters.

Pro Tips for Highlight Names:

  • Use Emojis: A single emoji can often convey the entire theme of a highlight and looks great.
  • Capitalization: Using ALL CAPS or Sentence Case can slightly affect the width of the text, as some characters are wider than others.
